Nets made of metal wires are used in different places for safety and protection. These nets are extensively used for protection in agricultural lands, fruit farms, poultry forms, floriculture, shipping, wind, railways, airports, electricity boards and others. Using different kinds of metals, varied shapes of nets are produced.  There is an increasing demand for these nets because of its vast usage for industrial and also domestic purpose.

Three kinds of metal nets production industries which have more demand:

Barbed Wire:

It is used as fencing to avoid grazing animals and from land occupations. These are made from galvanized iron wires of 10 to 14 gaze thickness. Generally, barbed wires are marketed in the form of bundles that are of 40 to 55 kgs weight.

Hexagonal Net:

These are manufactured with the employment of machinery. Generally, this hexagonal wire mesh is manufactured from the galvanized soft iron. This is also known as chicken mesh or poultry mesh. This mesh is made with 18 to 28 gaze galvanized iron wire or stainless steel wire as the raw material.

Welded wire mesh:

6 to 20 mm thick wires are tailored in size according to the need and welded using the automatic machinery. This wire mesh can be made with quality welding and less number of workers. These are extensively used in construction of cement concrete, airport run way, dams and other constructions.

• Hexagonal wire mesh unit:

Estimation of establishing an industry with 1.5 tons production capacity per day is Rs. 50 lakhs.

• Welded wire mesh unit:

Estimation of establishing an industry with 10 tons production capacity per day is Rs. 1.50 Crores.
