WHICH FUNDS TO SELECT?
Mutual fund is the way to invest the money indirectly. At present many organizations are offering this scheme.bec of these schemes it is quiet difficult to select the best. Hence we have to consider some aspects before investing in these funds. World renowned fund manager BOGLY has suggested some views i n his book. He has suggested equity based mutual funds.

FEAR OF LOSS:
Fund managers /institutes put the investments in form of equity shares. Hence there is certain amount of loss of fear. Hence the investors should be prepared to bear the potential loss. Investor should have the courage to bear the loss in the event of company not doing well followed by fall in equity share. Weak -minded people,people prone to heart attacks should stay away from investing in mutual funds.

DECISION MAKING AS PER AGE:
People below 25 yrs generally don’t have any responsibilities. So this category people can risk putting their amount in equity based mutual fund. Such people will have enough time to have good returns in the long run.

After marriage new responsibilities will crop up in family. Expenditures increase with increase in the family members. By putting some portion of savings in mf ,fund can be created.

Retired persons like to live risk less life. They expect  fixed amount  monthly. There should not be any erosion in their capital invested. Such people should be away from investing in equity – based mf.

RETURNS:

Investors should keep the growth of the capital invested from the long term point of view only. Short term company performance should not influence the decisions. Instead of investing in new funds, it is better to invest in the old schemes which are doing well in turbulent times.

Success of any fund depends upon fund manager, his experience, his commitment, his integrity.

It is most  important to know where the amount is being invested. After making a thorough research by the fund  manager, he has to select the industry . In the industry also, he has to select the market leader scrip. Investment should be transparent .management should be fair to deal with investors.

At present many websites are offering the financial and investment services to the people. At times people can take the experts advice before putting in the new scheme.
