In human body, blood circulation takes place through arteries and veins. For this a bit of pressure is necessary on the blood. When this pressure increases than the required, heart will have to do more work. When there is growth of tissue inside the blood vessel, more pressure is required for blood circulation. Along with it, healthy diet habits like taking food with more salts, oils and lack of exercise also cause increase in blood pressure. It is also called silent disease because its symptoms are very much normal. Once attacked with high blood pressure, it affects the whole life thereafter.
The only way to keep it in control is to have control on dietary habits. Healthy lifestyle is necessary for keeping this disease in control. High blood pressure can be kept in control by exercising daily, practicing yoga and others and to make necessary changes in the diet. Salt is necessary for our body. So, it should be necessarily present in the food we take. But the amount of salt to be taken is detrimental. On an average, one should take 15grams of salt every day. But many people take 20grams daily. Those who have high blood pressure should take 6 to 8grams of salt only. Presence of salt in the body will result in accumulation of water causing increased blood pressure. Those who want to keep blood pressure in control should take lesser salts in their food.
Also, they need to take calcium, potassium, magnesium necessarily in their food. Potassium will be abundantly found in banana, orange, pear, water melon and other fruits. Magnesium will be abundantly found in leafy vegetables and cereals. Calcium is found more in milk and in other dairy products. Along with them, vitamin C and E also help in controlling high blood pressure. Fresh fruits, vegetables, food with more fiber should be taken daily. It is also necessary to keep body weight under control. By being away from smoking and drinking alcohol, blood pressure can be kept under control naturally.
