What happens with pencillin? | Usage period of antibiotics

Those who take pencillin for the first time will check if it suits their body. After taking pencillin for once or twice, they feel like getting permission to use it for life time. But it is not true. There is no guarantee that reaction would not arise even if pencillin suits for once or twice. There are many cases where reactions are seen when the medicine is taken for second time. Getting reaction for the medicines taken in the past is called re-sensitisation. Every time pencillin is taken, patient should go for test dose and after confirming only, actual dose has to be taken.

What about tests for diagnosing the diseases?

It is very much essential to get blood, urine and all other tests done when infected by any disease. By this, doctor will have chance to prescribe the medicine that suits the needs. When common medicines are used without going for tests, it will not lower the effect of disease but instead the disease causing microorganisms get resisted of these medicines. This makes that bacteria strong and later, even the usage of stronger antibiotics will not show an effect.

Usage period of antibiotics will depend on the disease. Some times, one can get relief even before the time prescribed by the doctor. People tend to stop using medicines when they get relief before the time prescribed by the doctor. It is very much dangerous. Getting relief doesn’t mean that the bacteria have got eradicated completely. Even if the disease is relieved, medicines have to be taken for the period prescribed by the doctor. Then only those bacteria get killed completely.
