VLC Player Shortcuts | How to operate / control the VLC player with keyboard shortcuts?

VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player capable of reading most audio and video formats like MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, MPEG-1, mp3 as well as DVDs, Audio CDs and VCDs. The latest version is 1.0.5 which is capable of reading the mp4 format also.

In general while playing the VLC player one will use Mouse to perform the operations like increase the volume, to get full screen. Even we can do the same operations using keyboard also. Some of the short cut keys related to VLC Player is:

• Press Space bar to pause the movie
• Hold on Ctrl key and press Up arrow to increase the volume
• Hold on Ctrl key and press Down arrow to decrease the volume
• Hold on Ctrl key and press Left arrow to Fast forward the movie for a period of 3 minutes.
• Hold on Ctrl key and press Right arrow to backward the movie for a period of 3 minutes.
• Press F for Full screen
• Press M for Mute
• Press T to know the display time
• Hold on Alt key and press Enter key to see the properties of the selected file.  In case of mouse we will use right click for the same.
