Teeth getting weak – Causes and symptoms

Blood vessels and nerve tissues will be present in the pulp of teeth. As the age increases gradually, the pulp reduces in size. In elderly age, only few blood vessels will be supplying the blood. As a result, teeth related fluids will get reduced and the teeth get weak. It causes fall out of the teeth occurs or the teeth may turn into powder. In the elderly age, problems like degeneration of enamel layer and there by exposure of dentine are seen. If not treated, dentine will get damaged due to the fluids of mouth. It will also result in fall out of teeth or fall out of teeth in the form of layers.

Deficiency of saliva

While elderly age is one of the reasons behind reduction in the production of saliva, presence of heart diseases, high blood pressure, depression and other diseases since prolonged periods can be considered other reasons. Deficiencies of saliva cause dryness of mouth and also fall out of teeth. Since gums will be very weak in this condition, arranging dentures will be very much painful.

Oral lubricants are available since some period. It will eradicate the problems that are mostly caused due to dryness of mouth. Glycerin present in them will facilitate the easy movement of jaw bone. Presently, there are some medicines that help in increasing the production of saliva and some working as an alternative to saliva.
