Sony Ericsson W508 is a grey colored, slenderly built, lightweight and scanty bland model mobile phone in a clamshell form. It has outward features of music controls, a small OLED screen, a camera lens, sensor for “Gesture Control” which is used for muting calls or to snooze an alarm.

It fits in the palm with the easy to use controls for many purposes. Time, life of the battery, titles of the song appear on the external display of the handset. It comes with hands-free headphones having a 3.5mm port, USB on the left side and volume rocker, hold button on the right side of the phone. Music tracks can be shuffled by quickly moving the handset up & down in certain directions, move to the next or previous song and control the power of sound.

Apart from the internal 100MB memory, Sony Ericsson has included a 1GB Memory Stick Micro (M2) with the choice of expandable memory up to 16GB. More features are: Speakerphone, video calling, sound recorder, an FM radio, music player with TrackID and Mega Bass, a 3.2-megapixel camera without flash, stereo Bluetooth, YouTube integration, PC synchronizing, USB mass storage, modem support, sending messages and email, instant messaging, 3D games and a personal organizer.

Battery life of the W508 is rated at 10 hours (2G)/4 hours (3G) talk time, 400 hours (2G/3G) on standby, listening to non-stop music and up to 2 hours of video calls. The battery remain unexhausted for about 38 hours when phone calls were made, when listening to music for 24 hours, while playing few games and watching the occasional video.
