Thus knowing certain tips will help us in utilizing our personal computer in a much better way.Thus enabling us expediting our work and making them simpler which in turn helps saving precious time and energy. Certain important actions that can help in the better functioning of a PC are:

  • The configuration of the PC is a very important factor determining the performance of the same. The CPU of a computer is like the brain of the computer. Thus a PC should have a good CPU in terms of speed and technology. The CPU should have good cooling techniques.
  • The speed of RAM should be in compliance with the CPU. A PC with very high speed CPU and a very low speed RAM leads to misuse of the CPU speed. The RAM can be upgraded on requirement.
  • A high performing motherboard is also very important for a better performing PC. The important things to look into a motherboard are sufficient memory slots, support for ATA 133, USB 2.0, CNR, large space for heat sink or fan combinations, et.
  • The CD drive should be separated from the hard drive.
  • The PC should be cleaned regularly such that dust does not accumulate on the cabinet.
  • The disk drivers are to be updated at in a regular fashion by consulting the various available websites.
  • A standby copy of the BIOS is to be kept in a CD.
  • As security measure or to keep away from unnecessary intrusion into the system, passwords can be used.
  • The performance of the system can be made better by optimizing the use of the cache memory.
  • Proper partition of the hard disk has to be done.
  • To improve the PC performance various cleaning operations like the Disk Cleanup are to be done to get rid of unimportant bulky files, temporary files cache files to get better speed.
  • Antivirus softwares are to be updated regularly to ensure the safety of the system.
