In our country there is more scarcity of Charted Accountants and when we take the present country needs there is a need of nearly five lakhs of charted accountants for the country. But the pass outs of CA are less in demand, there is a great demand for these charted accountants in the country. There are many big companies and audit companies that are offering good job opportunities to the CA’s in the country. Keeping in view the increased demand for the charted accountants, the ICAI brought many changes in the admission qualifications and eligibilities and there is chance to target CA even from the 10th standard itself so that it will be easy to go through all the tests in the CA examination.
How to become Charted Accountant Selection?
The candidate had to overcome all the below mentioned stages to become a charted accountant. They are as follows…
ü After completing the 10th standard can apply for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) and start preparation from then onwards which is an easy way to secure good score in CA.
ü The candidates who applied for the CPT must be doing his inter 2nd year exams by the time of the CPT exam conducts. Those who did their tenth, intermediate in supplementary and advanced supplementary are also eligible to apply for this test.
ü The CPT exam will be in the objective type and there are in total 200 questions in this paper and the pass mark is 100.
ü The candidates who passed in both CPT and intermediate can join in any charted accountancy course.
ü The next stage after CPT is PCC…Professional Competency Test and after registering for the PCC, the candidate must take the articled training for a period of three years.
ü The next step is to have the IIT training for 100 hours in 20 days for 5 hours a day. This training is considered as the Practical training.
ü Before appearing for the Professional Competency Examination the candidate must work as articled assistant or audit assistant for 15 months.
ü After passed in the PCE examination, the candidate had to apply for the CA final year course and can get the study material from the recognised institution.
ü The candidate had to do General Management and Communication Skills Course(GMCS) besides preparing for the final examination.
ü The three and half years of articled training course is to be completed and after that he had to appear for the final exams and if the candidate is passed in the fianl exam he becomes a Charted Accountant.
