In Andhra Pradesh there is around 1.05 Lakh of suger cane was cultivated and around 55 lakhs of suger cane was imported to other countries during the year financial 2009-10. Andhra Pradesh stood fifth position in India in the production and crushing of Suger Cane and stood third position in Production of Jaggery.
The jiggery which is prepared without using any chemicals is called as Natural Sugar. India stood top most position in the world by producing 80 Lakh tones of Jaggery in the financial year 2009-10. In the same year there is around 43 thousand tones of Jaggery production was done in Andhra Pradesh. Ankappali Jaggery Market is one of the famous markets in the world and the biggest one among all the Jaggery markets in the southern states.
Jaggery Preparation using Machines
Jaggery is prepared by boiling the sugarcane juice at high temperature till the water level is evaporated and the juice becomes solid in state. This kind of Home industry needs large number of workers. so, it is much better to utilize the advanced technological machinery which results in high production of Jaggery with less number of workers. There are many advantages by this type of semi automatic Jaggery preparation.

The usage of Jaggery has become very high in the recent days. The reason for the increase in demand of Jaggery is health consciousness in the people and the increase in number of Diabetic patients. The public response will be more for the Jaggery which is prepared in the form of powder which is a free flow like sugar. Jaggery is been used in the areas like Preparing of Ayurvedic Medicines, Gross for the animals, Preparation of the sweets.
Jaggery Exports
Jaggery is been exported to the countries like Afghanistan, Angola, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Hongkong, Ireland, Japan, Kenya, Oman, Canada, Marshes, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Srilanka, Malaysia, China, Philippines, Khatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Australia.
Jaggery Unit Investment
In Andhra Pradesh around 250 acres of land is used for the cultivation of sugarcane which in return 40 tones of sugar process is done and 5 tones of jaggary preparation is done daily in order start a semi automatic industry.
The estimated expenditure for this project is approximately 1 crore rupees.
