Now, instant translation on the Android phone is possible with the release of Google Goggles 1.1. Users can take the photo of the text they want to translate and select the text and by just pressing the button for translation; they can get the translated version of the text on their mobile phone.

Only phones with Android 1.6 and above are capable of using this service. Get through the QR code which is present in the Google blog page for availing this facility. Or the user can directly go the Android Market app for getting the Google Goggles application.

This service is now available for the languages of Spanish, German, Italian, French, English and they can be translated into may other languages. Service is going to be extended to the Latin based languages soon. Work is going on to make available the services of the non-Latin languages like Arabic, Hindi, Chinese and others.

How to use Google Goggles 1.1 app?

Select the text which you want to translate. Draw lines around the specific words and lines that have to be translated. Shutter button has to be pressed. Upon recognition of the language by Google, it will ask for translation of the same. Select the source as well as destination languages for translation.
