How to know the genuine or fake currency notes of Rs.1000, Rs.500 ? What features to be observed?
Observe on the following features of currency notes of Rs.1000, Rs.500 to know whether it is genuine or fake.

1.Observe through Register
The floral design that is printed on the front, back and middle of the vertical band has a denominational number “500” on it. Half the number will be seen on obverse side and other half on the reverse side. Since the two parts are having registration back to back, when seen in light they look as single one.
2.Optically Variable Ink(OVI)
“500” number looks in green color while seen straight. When the note is tilted to certain angle it is seen in blue color.
3.Latent Image
If we arrange the bank note in parallel to the eye vision, vertical band having latent image of “500” number is seen.
4.Identification Mark
If we touch circle with intaglio Print we can identify the denomination number. This is useful for the persons with defective eye vision.
5.Water Mark
Multi dimensional lines, “500” denomination number in electrolyte mark is seen in the Mahatma Gandhi’s image. We can see it easily if we place the bank note in light.
6.Intaglio Printing
Mahatma Gandhi’s image on left side, reserve bank seal, guarantee and promissory clause, Ashoka Sthupa Emblem, RBI Governor’s sign on the bank note and the letters inside the identification mark can be felt and observed by touching.
7.Security thread
Security thread with 3 mm width having letters ‘Bharat’ in Hindi and RBI seal is present. Color changes from green to blue when seen in different angles. Greenish on the reverse side, florescent text is visible when seen under ultraviolet light. Long line of thread will be visible when seen in light. S
8.Micro lettering
Letters “RBI” and digits “500” are visible in between Mahatma Gandhi’s image and vertical band when seen using a magnifying lens.
