How do I reset an Epson printer cartridge?
Most of the ink jet cartridges with smart chips are being manufactured by Epson. When they are empty, they send a signal to the printer. Even after you refill the ink, these smart chips remember that the printer cartridge is empty. To force the printer to be familiar with that a refilled inkjet which is full, you will need to reset the Epson printer cartridge. Auto Reset Chips will reset the ink level to full when the printer power is turned on or when a cleaning cycle is completed.
They are now made use exclusively in the MIS Continuous Flow Systems and are not recommended for refilling. Further, SK 168 is the chip resetter that was used before the Auto Reset Chips were available. It works without having to lift up the cartridges. Works on MAC’s and PC’s and it will reset the printer even if the Red out of ink light is on. It is meant for use with Continuous Flow Systems only, not for refilling. Also, the SK168 is a self contained unit, with an internal battery and 7 small pins that contact the cartridge chip. When held against the chip for 6 seconds, it will put the chip back to its electronic FULL setting. This device requires that cartridges be removed from the printer. These were some of the methods through which we can reset Epson Chips.
