Face book users will be getting many notifications like new wall post or new page request or comments or new friend request. By default, these notifications are sent to the email, unless settings are altered. Users can get these notifications on their mobile phones also. For availing this service, activation is required from your cell phone. To get the activation, sign in to your face book account and go to the accounts page.

Click on the account settings in the accounts page. Click on the tab named as ‘notifications’ which will be present under ‘My account’. Select the option ‘send notifications to my mobile phone via SMS’. In the next step, select the country and your mobile network service provider. Most of the network providers are listed but if you are a subscriber of the network which is not listed here, you cannot be able to go activation of this service.

From your mobile phone, you will need to send an SMS to the number given on the screen and soon you will be getting a reply with a code. This code has to be entered in the dialog box that appears and now select the confirm button.

After this activation, you can now select the SMS notification in the notification tab, to get the notifications on your mobile via SMS.
