Sensitive Teeth: Because of the sensitiveness of the teeth, we experience temporary discomfort or pain, when we take the food in the too cold or too hot condition. This problem will sometimes be due to the cold air also. This intensity of the pain will increase and it will from the root of the tooth.

Reasons for Sensitive teeth: When the gums shrink the layer at the bottom of the tooth (Dentin) will come out and make the tooth sensitive. This is because tooth roots do not possess enamel which is strong. In this there are thousands of vessels. These are connected to the pulp in the tooth. So when the enamel layer is gone, the coldness or hotness of the food we take will directly go to this pulp. As a result the gums get shrinked and the effect is shown on the tooth leading to sensitive teeth.

Other Reasons Sensitive Teeth:

Hard brushing… Brushing the teeth hardly for a long time or if the bristles of the brush are hard, then enamel layer on the teeth will get thinned and the inner part will come out. With this the gums get shrinked and the problem arises.

Not brushing in the right way… The right way of brushing is to brush the teeth with a smooth brush in rounds and the teeth in the upper jaw should be brushed top to bottom and the teeth in the lower jaw should be brushed from bottom to top. Brushing in wrong direction will cause damage to the enamel resulting in the sensitivity of the teeth.

Due to shrinkage of gums… If there is decay in the tooth near the gums, it will lead to sensitivity. Teeth sensitivity occurs also if the gums get shrinked in the case of periodontal diseases.

Gums Disease… In conditions of Gingivitis, the muscles that hold the gums will get loosened making the tooth ends come out resulting in tooth sensitivity.

Broken tooth… Problem arises when an infection is formed due to the bacteria in the portion of broken tooth.

Grinding teeth….. Holding the jaws tightly, grinding and gnashing the teeth will cause damage to the enamel layer making the dentine layer to come out. As a result teeth become sensitive.

Usage of baking soda, tooth paste with peroxide and other materials for making teeth whitening will mostly cause teeth sensitivity.

Age… People between the ages of 20 to 30 will have more chance of getting tooth sensitivity. In cases of accumulation of dirt in between the teeth will also cause tooth sensitivity. Some kinds of mouth washes that contain acids when used regularly will cause damage to the dentine layer leading to sensitivity. Decayed tooth is also another reason.
