Even though there is a   decline in the auto market in the foreign due to recession, India has marked good sales in this field. Companies are trying to capture still more share in the market by introducing new models. Let us see the different models that are slated to release in the year 2010…

Eeco- Maruti Suzuki

Price: Below Rs. 4 lakhs
Specialties & Features: Manufactured to work with 1200 cc petrol engine. This is the car that is being made since 3 years by maruti keeping in view the Indian market. This is being manufactured according to the Indian Stage four environmental rules. This has the facility of three or two rows of seating.

EFC : Toyota

Price: Below Rs.4 to 4.5 lakhs.
Specialties & Features: This is the car manufactured by Toyota keeping in view the upcoming markets like India and others. They are about to release the petrol version first, and then the diesel version. This is being manufactured in the outskirts of Benguluru.

Figo – Ford

Price: Rs. 4 lakhs
Specialties & Features: Figo has a meaning of ‘cool’ in Italian language. The company is saying that this car is manufactured so that the driving is cool. This is being manufactured in the Chennai plant. They release both petrol and diesel versions into the market simultaneously. It is expected to give competition for maruti swift, Ritz, fiat punto, Chevrolet UVA, Hyundai i20.

Micra – Nissan

Price: Not announced.
Specialties & Features:  It may hit the market in May, 2010. It is being manufactured in the Chennai plant with an investment of Rs. 4,500 crores.

Indicruz Crossover – TATA

Price: Not announced.
Specialties & Features: This is the sports utility car from TATA Motors. This will be like sumo, safari models.  This is released in the England in the beginning of this year. Company is saying that there is good response for this car.

Chevrolet Beat:

Price: Rs. 3.5 lakhs.
Specialties & Features: This is the car being manufactured by the general motors company with 1.2 liter petrol engine. Company is saying that this will have more features than the spark model. This is expected to give a good competition for maruti Ritz, swift, Hyundai i10.

Polo – Volkswagen

Price: Above Rs. 4 lakhs
Specialties & Features: This is the car manufactured by the Volkswagen keeping in view the Indian customers. They are going to release the diesel and petrol variants simultaneously into the market. It is competition for Hundai i10, Maruti swift, Honda jazz. This is manufactured in the Pune plant.
